Bo

This is Bo, my Australian Cattle Dog mix.  We found him on the side of the road with a brother and a sister.  They were just little puppies then.  We have had him since I was five years old. He will be turning 8 on October 2nd.  He is a Cattle Dog and needs to constantly be busy with a job. Teaching him tricks was a good way to do that since we live in the city. He knows the basics, sit, stay, shake. But I wanted to teach him more. I have taught him to heel on command, lay, and roll over. He is in the process of learning to jump through a hoop and to jump over a pole. In his free time he seems to really enjoy nipping at our other dog's heel and herding him away from our pool.

Bo is one of those dogs that HATES thunder storms and all things wet. He likes swimming in our pool but only when we aren't  anywhere close. He like to scratch at our doors. When he ran away he Came back a few days later and to get in our garage chewed through our garage door. He is very trainable but seemingly has no manners. He has gotten better about jumping but still has those occasional mishaps.

If you are looking for a dog Aussies are a good choice but think long and hard before you go out and get one. They are a handful and need to be trained at a early age. If you live in the city you will need to have a active life style. If you live in the country even better for you and your dog.
