in summer!

This summer we have a lot of stuff going on. No lie. We have like one week tops to sit back and relax or take a family vacation. My mom to help us get a little extra money is teaching summer school for three weeks. It pays really well though. My dad and I are going to be working for our friends mowing company and making some extra money that way. This week I have a golf clinic which helps to work with  mechanics. I also have Vacation Bible School this week in the evenings. I am a butter churner. I churn butter.

My sister is doing the golf clinic too but has softball practice and scrimmages to prepare for some bigger  tournaments that are coming up on us fast. She was a softball team called the Bedlam Black. She loved all the players on the team like sisters. They kinda grew on me too. I loved their quirky antics. But unfortunately the team was loosing many players and had to keep getting replacements from other teams. The coach was a great person but was unorganized. My sister quit the team and joined the Oklahoma Rebelz. She knew many of them from previous softball teams and school so she fit right in. When she was on Bedlam they won second place against one of the best teams in the tournament, so that was a big leap for them. In her first tournament with the Rebelz they won second place again. They were so close to winning but didn't win.

This weekend is our family reunion on my moms side. We call it MSG, McKelvey Summer Get Together. My grandma recently had a stroke and lost her ability to move her right hand. She is able to walk and we have gotten permission to take her to the reunion for one day. My cousin is going to give me guitar lessons! I'm so excited!

This summer I am going to two summer camps. One is a sociology camp at OSU where we get to interact and study the behavior of animals and people. It will be really fun! In July I will be going to a summer food camp where we visit farms to learn where are food comes from. We will also learn about all the preservatives that are in the foods and breads that we eat.

Even Though this summer is very busy for all of the Davis's we will always find time for our family and ourselves. Have a Great Summer Everyone!!

Tibetan Mastiff

The Tibetan Mastiff got its start in China and is the most expensive breed out there. One sold for over $100,000 in China. They were bred to be a guard dog of the tents and families when the flocks were moved to high grounds. They origins of this breed are kinda murky but they are believed to have originated in the Himalayas. Today in modern China they are not being used as a guard dogs but as friendly family dogs. The dog remained isolated for many centuries.

With a large muscular body and pounds of fur on their back they are clearly one of the largest breeds out there. They shed much of there fur during the summer and winter. They have a somewhat large variety of coat colors. Tibetan Mastiffs come in black, brown, blue/grey, with or without tan markings, and various shades of gold.

In the training department they are very independent and intelligent. This will make them much harder to train. Tibetan Mastiffs are natural protectors and make excellent guard dogs. If you want them as a family pet you will need to train them at a early age. You will have to make sure to socialize them as a puppy to make sure they won't bite or fight the other dogs.
